An Authentic Account of the Trials etc, of the Five Malefactors,
(including George Allen, alias Powditch)
who were Executed at Kennington-Common, on Monday 23 April, 1770,
for the Robberies they had committed in the County of Surrey.

   John Tresler, was indicted for committing divers robberies in the County of Surrey. -----  /
To be Transported for Seven Years.
   Charles Herbert, was indicted for assaulting Thomas Jones and taking from him one
Silver  /  Watch, his property. ----- Acquitted.

   John Armond, was indicted for stealing two Tubs of Butter, the property of Thomas and  /
Leonard BeIl. ----  Acquitted.

   Anthony Jackson, was indicted for breaking open the stables of Thomas Adams, and
stealing  /  two Saddles, a Bridle, two pair of saddle Bags, and divers other things, his
property.  -----  /  To be Transported for Seven Years.

   Joseph Batt, was indicted for stealing several quantities of Butter and Cheese, the
property  /  of Thomas and Leonard Bell. — Acquitted.

   Stephen Harwood, was indicted  for stealing a Silver Milk-pot, the property of Mary  /
Wilkinson. ---- Branded.

   Acteon Greenwell, was indicted for breaking his Majesty's Goal in Southwark, in the
County  /  of Surrey, and making his escape from thence, after sentence of Transportation
had been  /  passed upon him. ---- Guilty Death, but Reprieved.

   John Brown, and Thomas Mc Ginnis, was indicted for robbing George Trenchard
Goodenough,  /  Esq; on the King's Highway, near Cobham, in Surrey, of a green Purse,
two Guineas, one  /  half Guinea, a quarter of a Guinea in Gold, and three or four Shillings in Silver, his property;  /  he was also indicted for stealing a bay Gelding, the property of
Thomas Richardson. ---- Both guilty Death, but Reprieved.

   James Fletcher, was indicted for stealing one Iron Spade, the property of George
Curtis.  /   ---- Branded.

   Joseph Barew, was indicted for committing a Forgery in the County of Surrey. ----
Acquittted.  /
   Elizabeth Betts, was indicted for stealing a pair of Silver Shoe Buckles, the property of  /
Matthew Slater. --- Discharged.

   William Harbin, was indicted for stealing feveral Bell Glasses, and three Hand Glasses,
the  /  property of Adrian Vandercam, ----- Branded.

   John Legg, was indicted for feloniously stealing out of the dwelling-house of James Sturt,  /
twenty-five Guineas, his property. ----- Acquitted.

   Mary Tervin Perry, was indicted for stealing one Silver Watch, the property of John  /
Cooper. ---- Acquitted..
