Malefactors, who have suffered according to/ their several sentences viz.
William Harris alias Scholas. alias Hamilton, / alias Smith, was indicted for committing
divers / robberies in the County of Surrey, of which / he was found Guilty.

He was taken for the said robberies in the / County of Middlefex, and committed to New-/

day of December 1769, to the County Goal / of Surrey.

He was about twenty-six years of age, / born in the Liberty of Westminster, and was / the son

inclination was intirely / for the sea, upon which his father, by proper / solicitations got him to
be a Midshipman, on / board one of his Majesty's frigate's, the latter / end of the last war with
France. His behaviour / on board was very becoming, and he served / with the approbation
of all the Officers, being / greatly beloved and respected. Some time / after he had been on
board the frigate, he was /sent on board the Prince man of war of 70 / guns, in which ship he
continued till the war / was ended.
