Hi there, and welcome to the December 2003 e-Newsletter.
Hopefully by now you should have received your copy of the 2003 Powditch Christmas card and Newsletter, together with lots of info' re the * FIRST EVER * POWDITCH GATHERING, which is
being held at Morston, Norfolk, UK. from 17th to 19th September 2004. If you haven't received
your copy yet, don't panic, as it is definitely on its way to you (I was a little later than expected mailing
everything
Lots of planned events over the 3-day period have been organised, and details together with a
programme of events - including a Registration Form etc have been included in the same envelope as
the Christmas card and Newsletter. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't realised how much work would be
involved in getting the 2004 event 'off the ground' so that everything will go smoothly next year. I've
discovered over past months, that such an event takes a lot of organisation, so I am exceedingly
grateful to Joc Wingfield of Morston, for Co-ordinating everything in and around that Village, and for
arranging visits, trips, and a very special Church Service (at which the Powditch Memorial will be
unveiled and dedicated) etc (all will be revealed in the info' on its way to you).
There has only been one 'Change' to the web-site during the past month, and that is to Items updated
or added to the web-site. In future therefore, the following wording will appear on the homepage
(www.powditch.plus.com) and the relevant details will appear immediately underneath; e.g.
NEW. December 2003 Newsletter has been added
and LATEST NEWS has been updated as at 21 Dec 2003
May I take this opportunity of thanking you for your support and for your continuing interest in the
Powditch family and its fascinating history. Thanks also to your own usage of the Powditch website,
which, together with the interest generated regarding the exploits of several 17th, 18th and
19th century Powditch's (details of which are on the www.powditch.plus.com website), I estimate
that by the end of 2003 the visitor number should have exceeded 5000.
Thank you also for all of your news, information, family history details and everything else during the
past year, but thank you more especially for your friendship.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a very healthy 2004, and I hope that we'll be
able to meet at the * FIRST EVER * POWDITCH GATHERING, at Morston, Norfolk, UK. from
17th to 19th September 2004.

P.S. Although the e-Newsletter is a totally free update regarding 'happenings/changes' to the web-site,
if there should be any particular reason you do not wish to continue receiving a copy of it, perhaps you
could e-mail me and let me know? I'd also be most grateful for any details you may know about
re births, marriages, deaths, illnesses, change of addresses, achievements, discovery of
family papers/documents on or about the Powditch family etc, or anything else. Also, if you
know of any family members who are now 'on-line' and who have an e-mail address, I'd be
grateful for their details.
