BERNARD HIRST POWDITCH
SANTIAGO, CHILE
26 Mar 1899  -  17 March 1969
Please Note that the following information of the late
BERNARD HIRST POWDITCH
has been reproduced exactly as his daughter (Carol E. POWDITCH)
had originally written them to me on 7 January 1988 and on 21 July 1989.
No attempt has been made to correct any spelling or typing errors, and all words and wording etc, have all been faithfully reproduced from her letters to me.
Letter to me dated 7 January 1988.
"Bernard Hirst Powditch's departure at age 15, and return, aged 19/20, from World War One, Battle of
the Somme (Alsace-Lorraine)"
Letter to me dated 21 July 1989.
"Ask him [i.e. Dennis Trevanion, St Austell, Cornwall] to tell you about that time about Daddy, the Soldier
of Battles of Ypres, the Somme and Alsace St Lorraine wounded with Medals."
"Another of Sam and Jessie's children married a  Duncan Morrison, who was an Officer in World War
One.  Duncan Morrison and Bernard Powditch both having enlisted came to Britain (or did they enlist
whilst here??)  Duncan was killed in WW1, but not before he and Bernard had called to see Grandma
Vine.  Bernard also had his photo taken in 1914 (he was aged 15/16) and a fluffy dog.
 (Bernard was in uniform)"
Whilst all of the above words, sentiments, comments, descriptions etc are those written by and of the CAROL E. POWDITCH, neither I nor any other member of my family can be held responsible for any errors, innacuracies, omissions or any other details (whether factually correct or not) which might be deemed by others to be litigacious, offensive, libellous or slanderous or of any other nature, whatsoever.
I would also wish to state that permission by Carol and her late brother (Robert)'s family was sought before any of the
mentions of her late Father (BERNARD HIRST POWDITCH) were included on this website,
although to date,  I have only received permissions from Robert's family.
In view of Carol's silence, I have taken that silence to be that she has no objections.
